Pharrell Williams 24 Hours Of Happiness Web App
Project Type: Visual Design, UI Design, Branding, Music Marketing
Pharrell partnered with the United Nations to create the International Day Of Happiness, based on his hit song, “Happy.” During this campaign, users could sign up to submit their own videos laughing, having a good time, and dancing to “Happy.” Columbia received so many submissions it was really hard for the digital marketing team to choose which submissions ended up on the site. I was tasked with designing all the functionality and brand identity of the site which was a fun project to do from scratch.

Phase 2. Web App Launch - User Journey & Visual Design
Landing on the homepage of Phase 2 of the web app they were greeted with a thank you message from Pharrell. UI included a timeline, previous button, next button for scrubbing through to the next event in addition to the music video and buttons for sharing the app.
Basic User Journey
When scrubbing through the timeline, different events would occur. These were strategically released throughout the timeline so people would be engaged consistently
In the case of a user scrubbing too far into the timeline they were greeted with a gate that wouldn’t let them proceed forward and would display a countdown until the timezone would be active.
